Hopefully you've been busy hatching plans for the best year of your life! A lot has happened for me since my last 'Design Your Life' Newsletter. In December, I made my way to South America for the very first time and had a couple of crazy weeks hanging out in Brazil. In January, I spent a few magical days in Ireland. And today I'm just dreaming up all many places that I want to go to next! I find it so envigorating travelling to places new. I love immersing myself into different cultures as well as having the opportunity to observe myself in a different context. So tell me, where abouts are you going on your next adventure? Feel free to tell me all about it on my Blog!

Part 4 - Inspirational Quote of the Month! Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. Security does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than exposure. Helen Keller - US blind & deaf educator (1880 - 1968) Part 5 - Featured Article - You have two choices... I was having a chat about life with a friend of mine on the telephone the other day. Midway through our conversation he remarked "Everyone in life has to make one of two choices. You can either choose to go after everything you’ve ever dreamed and hoped for or you can choose security... however, the thing you need to be aware of is that if you choose security, you’ll end up with neither." Are you playing it safe? I had to
smile to myself as I pondered my friends comment. I knew he had a point.
The funny thing about walking down this path of predictability was the fact that I’d never really considered myself as someone who was particularly attracted to security. I gave intense thought to my process of arriving in that space. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion that it had come down to the small decisions that I was unconsciously making each and every day not to fully express my own personal truth. And it was these small daily decisions spread out over a number of years that had lead me further and further away from myself. So what should you do when you find yourself playing it safe? Well the first thing you need to become aware of is what you are actually losing by choosing comfort over your deep desires. For me personally, I came to the realisation that my life was slipping away from me one day at a time. I was losing the opportunity to fully express myself through my work. I was losing the opportunity to live life on my own terms. And most importantly to me, I was losing the opportunity to feel completely alive to my own potential. Once I came to realisation that security was actually costing me more than it was giving me, I knew that it was time to make a change. Rather than making the small daily decisions that were taking me away from myself, I made the commitment to start making the small daily decisions that would move me closer and closer to my own personal truth. Is it time for you to make a change? I read an African proverb during the week that said 'the best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now!' If you been searching for the courage to step fully into who you truly are I urge you to embrace this moment. Make a committment to take one small step towards the destiny of your choice today. And then just repeat this simple exercise every day for the rest of your life! Despite the fears and challenges it may bring up for you, I can assure you that you will be so glad you did.
